June 24, 2020 Update on USA Team Handball’s National Championship event
It is with a heavy heart that USA Team Handball must announce the cancellation of the 2020 USA Team Handball National Championship event.
With the safety of our athletes, clubs and members as our top priority and upon further evaluation of the current and projected status of the COVID-19 virus in the United States, we cannot guarantee that this event would be able to provide a safe, competitive and restriction-free environment for Open Nationals.
We want to thank USA Team Handball’s Return To Play working group and Detroit Handball Club for their wonderful support and efforts towards this event as we navigated through this difficult decision. Most importantly, we want to thank our athletes, coaches, club directors and officials for their passion and patience throughout. We miss you already.
USATH will be issuing refunds to all clubs that have submitted registration payment, but please understand that these could take a few weeks to process. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to info@usateamhandball.org.
Although Open Nationals will no longer be taking place this year, USATH will continue to provide online resources for our members and clubs through our newsletter and digital media channels.
Follow us on social media for tips, conditioning and other content created for you by our National Team athletes, coaches and training staff. Sign up for our regular newsletter here: http://bit.ly/2ug6PXD
We will also be sharing Return to Play Guidelines soon for club leaders, athletes, members and families to provide guidance as handball activities begin to recommence across the United States.
Thank you again to all our members for your patience in this unprecedented time. We hope everyone stays safe and we can get back on the court soon. We cannot wait to see you all in the 2021 season.
